Work description
Example of a project developed with the 3rd classes of the primary school
The theme of this course is the tree in all its aspects and in its representation in the different seasons. Each lesson is introduced by the presentation of works of art, then we proceed with the realization of drawings and small handiworks.
In spite of the indications given, the outcome of the work is left open to the imagination of each child.
Lesson 1
Walk in the park to observe the trees and their foliage. Realisation of drawings in class with oil pastels.
Lesson 2
Presentation of how artists depict the tree leafage. Realization of a work with the torn paper collage technique.
Lesson 3
The pine as Christmas tree, shapes and elements characterizing this type of wood. Realisation of a small Christmas tree with packing cardboard and wooden sticks.
Lesson 4
Walk in the park to observe the bare trees. Realisation in class of some drawings with the aid of powders and oxides following Munari’s indications and his vision of branches entanglement.
Lesson 5
The Tree and its interpretation from Klimt to Mondrian. Realisation of a tree with an iron wire, copper wire, beads, straws and recovered material
Lesson 6
Contemporary art: interpretation of the tree. Realisation of a three-dimensional tree with recovered materials such as cardboards and plastic
