Biography
My passion for art was clear since my childhood. As a teenager I insisted on attending the High School of Art and later I got a Diploma in Sculpture at the Brera Academy in Milan.
After a year of study in Ortisei to learn the techniques of wood carving, I worked in the field of antique furniture carving.
Far from the precise and self-repeating decoration typical of carving, in my works I look for real shapes, but I do not like refining the details. I prefer forms to be perceived, so that everyone can feel their sensations freely and thus reach their interpretation.
Observation is my point of departure: I look and let me get absorbed by the reflections and hidden forms. My work is created in a sort of balance between experimentation of materials and creative ideas that the materials themselves suggest to me.
Works and exhibitions
In 2008 I took part in Parallel Events to Manifesta7 in Stelvio with a collective work on the theme “Encounter and limits”. In October 2011 I won the fifth edition of the Lidia Conca Prize and I realized a wooden bas-relief for the Library of Novate Milanese. In 2014 I exhibited a wooden bust at the Novara Art Prize and in 2018 a photography work at the collective exhibition “Circuiti Dinamici in bianco e nero – Dynamic Circuits in black and white).
In 2022 I exhibited at the Milan Previtali Gallery a work made of building material from the series “Il Vuoto non si rende” (Bottles are not returnable) at the exhibition “La mia Brera”.
I am always in search of art, of expression and, above all, open to discussion, because Art belongs to those who create it, but, especially, to those who observe it.
